designer band-aids

Wow, are these band-aids by Cynthia Rowley not the most gorgeous band-aids you've ever seen? I've never wanted to scrape my knee so badly...

weekend snapshots

Wow, this weekend sure flew by, don't you agree? Kyle and I made some new friends (from his office) and the rest of the time was spent cleaning and working on little house projects here and there. I also got to watch Kyle work on our backyard some...I love that he has such a green thumb! Also:

*Flea market goodness. We are debating going back for an unusual deer (fake) antler mirror...maybe next weekend?
*Best portebello mushroom burger ever from here (thanks to my sis for the giftcard!)

*Cherry and pecan praline flavors are surprisingly delicious together. Of course, anything topped with sprinkles also helps.
*My new Native American-inspired sandals that are currently my latest obsession (ie. I've been wearing them nonstop).

*So excited to finally start reading again...I've heard the broadway musical is absolutely amazing.

have a great weekend!

Happy Friday! I can't wait to start the weekend - Kyle and I are going to get some more house stuff done and maybe fit in some cattle barn fleamarket action (yes, it's actually in a cattle barn). I hope we find something special. Have a good one!

boho chic couple

I think it is so cute when couples dress alike. Scott Schuman from The Sartorialist says it perfectly, "It seems to show a bond or a personal secret they have together." Do you ever dress like your other half?

weekend snapshots

Did you do anything fun this weekend? We spent most of ours running a ton of errands (huzzah!) and eating many tasty treats. Pretty productive I'd say:

*Guess who got an iPhone 4? (P.S. He really likes it but I still think my 3GS is prettier)
*Waiting for an oil change...yea, I told you we ran a lot of errands.
*Yummy strawberry milkshakes in the most perfectly sized cup portion (Any more and I think I'd gag). Oh, and it's organic.
*Our next-door neighbor's dog who likes to say hi through the fence!
*Dill pickle popcorn from this place. One of my biggest addictions. Seriously.

'the travelers'

I just discovered this sweet video made by my super-artsy (and talented!) wedding photographer, Nessa and her bf Josh. They made the little song too.

Aren't they just the cutest?

house dogs

I enjoyed seeing these photos awhile back on Design*Sponge so much that I wanted to share them with you (in case you missed them!). Since I am a total dog person, I truly believe that having one can can make any home happier...not to mention stylish too, as the dogs in the photos above clearly demonstrate. But watch out for those sneaky mischevious dogs...especially the small, poufy white-curly furred ones :)

stump ring

Wow, what a sweet little ring by Digby & Iona. How great is it that they will engrave it with the initials of you and your special someone in an old-school heart! Or if you prefer the necklace option...

weekend snapshots

A few photos from this past weekend and a few from the week before (we didn't do much the last couple of days to be honest):

*Our new basil plant who will taste delicious in many pasta dishes to come.
*Sno-beach sno cones are the best things ever on a 100F+ day (mine was cherry colada flavored).
*Hallie enjoying her little window view at the new house.
*A little pre-wedding anniversary gift for our dear friends, Runi & Thomas.
*Homemade cheddar muffins with lots of extra cayenne pepper for Kyle.

corgi belly flop!

Saw this on a friend's Facebook and had to share. Is that not the cutest flop ever?

Happy Friday!

food faces

Adorable food faces by Sayaka Minemura...I think it's hilarious that she gives most of them names too. Check out the rest on her flickr.

P.S. The totoro one just kills me. Love!

lion tamer mugs

Because everyone needs a little Jonathan Adler in their kitchen...can you imagine drinking your morning cup of coffee in one of these? I can't decide which one is cuter - the mustache or the whiskers!

bob video

I've been a huge fan of Bob Schneider ever since high school, so it made me super happy to see that his latest music video, '40 dogs' was filmed right here in Austin! Any Austinite will tell you that the Hey Cupcake trailer, Hotel St. Cecilia, Congress bridge and the dog parks at Auditorium Shores are some of the best places to visit in the city. Gosh, how I love this town!

(Thanks to my sis for sending me the video)

weekend snapshots

You'd think I'd get tired of posting photos of food + our home (but I never will):

* Our favorite 'Greece trip' mini-pics from our beloved instant camera...on our fridge for the whole world to see.
* Pretzel M&Ms...they really are as good as everyone says. Sweet+salty heaven.
* Former American department store chain HQ turned pricey loft apartments (right next to our neighborhood Target store)
* A 'Jonathan Adler-inspired' ceramic piggybank...to save up for an authentic Jonathan Adler piggybank.
* 4 words: Crinkle Sweet Potato Fries.

Happy Monday!

wedding favors

And lastly, for our wedding favors we wanted to send everyone home with a little piece of "Texas"...so my mom and I decided to bake 16 pounds of candied pecans using my coworker Kelly's famous recipe (warning: they are incredibly addicting so watch out!). I ordered the custom stamp from The Mayberry Sparrow and had my friend Runi and my family help me stuff the envelopes a few days before. In the end, we had about 70 bags leftover so we sent them all home with my cousin and her husband (neither of them complained).

Well that's it for wedding week! I hope I didn't bore you too badly but I do want to say thank you for letting me share a few of our favorite memories from our special day. I hope you have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you Monday!

reception at lamberts

Kyle and I are self-proclaimed "foodies" so we wanted to have the reception at a place that served great food. We chose Lamberts BBQ because of their fabulous brunch menu - which we ended up serving. In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, we decided to serve frozen bananas (as a tribute to Arrested Development) from a local stand here in Austin...as well as the restaurant's own fried cherry pies and cupcakes. I think both the Asians and non-Asians appreciated that everything was served buffet style...as we certainly had more than enough food to go around!

When it came time for speeches, all we knew was that my Dad was going to give a quick toast...what we didn't know was that we would be overcome with gratitude by all the family and friends who also went up to say a few words and offer their congratulations. But the highlight of the entire reception was undoubtedly when Kyle's second cousin, Rayann (age 6), went up on stage to proclaim her love for him...followed by her brother Tyler (age 12) who then confessed that he was jealous of Kyle because I was so "hot"! With everyone bursting out in laughter, it was a perfect end to a perfect day :)
