vacation recap: sedona

We were lucky to be able to spend a long weekend in Sedona for our babymoon and it was exactly what we needed. The surroundings were simply breathtaking - from the scenic views of the red rock canyons to the cool crisp air and starry night skies - it was all so relaxing. Here are some photos of our trip if you'd like to see...

babymoon in sedona!

Kyle and I are off on a quick little weekend trip to Sedona and we couldn't be more excited. Have you been before? We are staying at the Enchantment Resort, which is nestled in a secluded canyon..."surrounded by red-rock formations known for inspiring the mind, body and spirit." Eek, how relaxing does that sound?! At least I hope so...we've heard good things and can't wait to just sit around and do nothing.

I can't believe I am already six months along (well, my giant belly says otherwise)...our baby will be here before we know it. I'm going to try my best not to think about all the things we still have to do before she arrives and just enjoy our last trip as a family of two:)

Have a great weekend!

yellowstone trip!

Last month, we spent a few days with Kyle's family in Jackson, Wyoming and Yellowstone! I was nervous at first because I'm not an outdoorsy type of person at all (I actually bought my first pair of sneakers in +10 years for this trip haha). But in the end, it was simply breathtaking and we had a great time.

Since it was summertime, we rode the ski lifts to the top of a mountain and raced down a looong slide in little go-carts. Yes, it was as fun as it sounds!

Here's Kyle with some of his family...too cute don't you think so??? That's three generations right there:)

In the park, we stayed right by the peaceful Yellowstone Lake. Sooo blue...

...as were the crystal clear skies the entire time we were there!

It was my first time going white water rafting (um, scary!!!)...

...and the first time I went horseback riding! My horse was named 'Scooter' and was super friendly and had a pretty black and white mane.

Seriously, everywhere we looked was like a scenic postcard. It's probably impossible to take a bad photo while you are there. And the best part was Kyle's parents drove us all around the park because they knew where everything was already, so we didn't even have the stress that usually comes with exploring a new place. We were able to just step out of the car, take it all in and enjoy ourselves. Thanks Max & Linda!

Thanks for the memories!

off to NYC!

I'm off to New York today with my sister, Megan, for a quick little adventure in search of the best slice of pizza! Ok not really, it's more like a birthday/early graduation present for her...but we WILL be eating lots of pizza, rest assured. I haven't been since this trip so I'm super excited to be visiting again and to be experiencing it with my sister whom I love so much. Wish us luck...and have a fabulous weekend! :)

kyle's birthday surprise!

Back in January, I decided I wanted to throw Kyle a birthday party in Las Vegas and have all of his closest friends fly in and surprise him. Fast forward to this past weekend and it was a total success! Despite a few minor hiccups...

vacation recap: cabo

When Kyle and I first started planning our vacation, we were really only looking for one thing: that the trip itself be relaxing and as stress free as possible. Originally, we had thought about visiting the beautiful island of Curacao, but figured Mexico in the end would be easier. Turns out, it was the right decision for us because it was hands down the most relaxing trip we've ever had. Here's why...

cabo trip

Here's a little video I made of our trip to Cabo. Hope you like it!

P.S. Can you spot the whale making a splash with his tail around the two minute mark? A lady next to us was pointing at something and we didn't realize we had caught it on camera until after we got back home!

P.P.S. Our Japan video and New Orleans video...

vacation recap: new orleans

We had a great time in New Orleans this past weekend...and even though it was my first time visiting, Kyle had been there once before so he showed me around...

Walking around downtown was a lot of fun, especially since there were so many cute little houses everywhere.

Of course, we had to do the touristy thing too and walk along Bourbon St...where we ate at a famous oyster house. I actually can't stand raw oysters but chargrilled oysters were a whole different story. They were so delicious!

Strolling along the French Quarter, we saw a lot of cool street art for sale, horse buggies (for private tours), and of course...

BEIGNETS! The most yummy kind I've ever had, from the most famous of all places.

But hands down, the best part of the trip was the tour of the Lafayette Cemetery. It was both beautiful and eerie at the same time...I also thought it was very heartwarming to see just how important it was for families to be buried together.

Several of the tombs had fresh flowers, undoubtedly from family members who still live in New Orleans today.

This photo was supposed to be of us by the Mississippi river, but that's what I get for having Kyle take the picture:) Overall, the perfect little weekend trip...thanks for reading.

And now the countdown to Christmas begins!!!

*UPDATE: Check out my short video too!

tokyo love

One of my favorite things about our trip to Japan was the incredible view of Tokyo that we saw from our hotel room each day. I seriously could not stop taking pictures of it...I loved how even though the skyline was always the same, the photos looked different from one another because they were taken at different times of the day. There was something so eerily beautiful about the city at 5:30 in the morning (thanks jet lag!).

I have my lovely friend, Chiharu, for recommending the hotel to us...we can't say enough good things about it. If you're ever in Tokyo, you MUST stay there and see for yourself!

i'm back!

Even though I'm still so exhausted and recovering from jet lag (and a cold!), it feels so good to be home. Plus, we were beyond homesick for our little bulldog.

I made a little video about our Japan travels...hope you like it!:)

bike rides

The food, the weather, the views in Palm Springs...all incredible and exactly what I needed to decompress from work and so forth. Staying at the most hipster hotel on the planet helped too. And can I just say, offering free bike rentals to their guests is a genius move. We took turns with our friends, Runi and Thomas, riding the tandem and cruisin' the posh neighborhoods of Palm Springs like nobody's business...
