vacation recap: cabo

When Kyle and I first started planning our vacation, we were really only looking for one thing: that the trip itself be relaxing and as stress free as possible. Originally, we had thought about visiting the beautiful island of Curacao, but figured Mexico in the end would be easier. Turns out, it was the right decision for us because it was hands down the most relaxing trip we've ever had. Here's why...

This was the view from our balcony...which had its own private plunge pool. Insane, I know. Actually when we first pulled up to the resort, there was a man standing there, holding a tray with our "welcome" margaritas. Just like out of a movie! I kept thinking to myself, am I allowed to be here?

We chose to stay at a place that faced the Pacific Ocean (for its walking proximity into town), even though its strong currents and waves meant it was pretty much unswimmable. Still, the beach was pretty breathtaking.

Here we are, ready for a day at the beach! We spent most of our time being lazy and reading books with our toes in the sand. It was heaven.

Coming from Texas, we were already big Mexican food fans...and not surprisingly, everything we ate was insanely tasty because it was all so fresh! I'm 99% sure I ate my weight in guacamole alone...at least.

Fun fact: I asked for Topo Chico, a popular sparkling water brand here in the States, but couldn't find it anywhere! All I got was San Pellegrino (of course) and SierrAzul...which I have never heard of.

Yummy tuna tostada with avocado...

I wanted to buy everything I saw in Cabo but unfortunately I SUCK at bargaining...so I ended up shopping mostly at a "superstore"...where they had many popular items at a slight discount but the prices were fixed.

One of the many flea markets that I was unsuccessful at bargaining...

We had dinner one of the nights at El Farallón, a beautiful restaurant on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean. When I made the reservation, I asked them what time we should come if we wanted to see the sunset during the meal. Turns out, it was at 5:45pm. So here I am, goofing off on some rocks before our early bird special:)

As expected, the food was incredible! I had the snapper while Kyle ordered the parrot fish, and we both shared a few scallops.

Handsome husband by the marina!

The only excursion I planned for us during the entire trip was a two hour "sunset jazz and wine cruise". Kyle was especially pleased with the open bar...

We cruised by lots of rock formations and other tourists on boats.

The famous El Arco de Cabo San Lucas! We saw several sea lions here just chillin'. Those sea lions are so lucky...

Gorgeous sunset view...and even though we spotted a whale from the boat, we actually saw several of them from our balcony each morning! It was so fun to see them spout water from their blowholes.

And lastly, because it's starting to become a tradition...here's another one of Kyle's attempts in taking a photo of us while on vacation;)

Thanks for reading!!

Thanks for sharing what looks and sounds like a perfect vacation. Total relaxation, beautiful scenes, yummy food and fun shopping, what's not to love? ;)

I would suck at bargaining too.

@tiffany rose - I think I'm bad at bargaining because they can see the desperation on my face when I really want something...probably explains why I am also bad at poker!
