vacation recap: chicago

Last weekend, Kyle and I took a three-day trip to Chicago to visit my good friend Sarah and her husband EJ. We had a wonderful time just hanging out and exploring the city together! Here are some photos if you'd like to see...

First stop: The Bean! Or should I say Cloud Gate...otherwise known as the biggest tourist attraction ever. I love it though! And of course, we had to take a group photo while we were there, since everyone else was doing it too.

So many pretty boats out on Lake Michigan...probably something to do with the clear blue skies and picture-perfect weather...

These cool kids...what can I say? ;)

Sarah and EJ took us to the cutest little burger place right by their house...I ordered the turkey umami burger on a whole wheat bun and it was seriously the best turkey burger I have ever eaten in my entire life. Their pickles were pretty incredible too.

Speaking of incredible, so was the food at Girl & the Goat. Everything we tasted was top notch!

After dinner dessert...since I was on vacation after all.

We ended up at this crazy tiki bar where it was decided that we would order a pretty lethal drink that tasted like gasoline and was served out of a giant skull glass. Someone sure knows how to party (not me)...:)

Sarah and I goofing off at Barney's...these crazy elevator mirrors made it look like I had two heads attached to my body.

What's a visit to Chicago without deep dish pizza??? Sooo delicious but incredibly filling. I could only eat one slice, which has never happened to me before EVER.

While it was sad to say goodbye, it was especially hard saying goodbye to these sweet pups, Eli and Winnie...we miss you (and your human mom and dad) already!!!
