wallpaper downloads

A new year means a fresh start...and new mobile/desktop wallpapers! It's funny how such a small change can have such a big impact on me...though maybe it's because I spend a huge part of my day either on my computer or iPhone.

My favorite source for free online wallpapers right now is via designlovefest. Currently, I am using one of Ashley Goldberg's designs (the very top one), as she has been one of my favorite artists since that time she painted a portrait of Kyle and me. To see more wallpaper downloads, click here.

lizard clutch

I've blogged about the site, Of a Kind, before and this time, I'm loving this lizard clutch (yes, real lizard!) by Eayrslee. It's a little strange I'll admit, but something about it just screams edgy and minimalist. Move over leopard...there's a new print in town!

the coveteur

Absolutely loving one of the latest installments of The Coveteur...Tracy Taylor has a closet to die for. I especially love her polaroid shoe system she has going...how smart is that?!

of a kind

Have you heard of 'Of a Kind'? It's a wonderfully unique website that works with a different designer each week to produce an exclusive limited-edition piece. Each edition ranges from 5 to 50 pieces, so once they are sold out they are gone! I'm kind of in love with this week's color-blocked bracelet by JF & Son, that also doubles as a belt...see more photos here.

p.s. i made this

Erica Domesek is the genius behind the blog, "PS-I Made This...", where she finds daily inspiration and translates it into something we can all wear, use or look at. I like how the instructions are numbered and are easy to read and understand (especially for slow learners like myself). Now to find an old t-shirt I don't like anymore...

supermarket sarah

Meet Sarah -- she left her job in the corporate world (presumably in the U.K.) to open up an online shop in her own home. You can find lots of vintage and handmade goodies...and I love the quirky setup of her website - check it out here!

kindred wallpapers

So I've been bored with the same desktop wallpaper that I've had for months now...and was looking for one that was a little more feminine and summer-y to look at...mainly so that I wouldn't be as envious of all the kids out there now on their summer vacations (as I spend most of my day staring at a computer screen, far far away from any window in sight). Well, I was super happy to stumble across Kindred - a collection of one-of-a-kind wallpapers created by all of my heroes/heroines in the blog and designer world. Now I'm using Traci French's latest design and am loving it! It's so calming and peaceful, don't you think?

before i die i want to...

The "Before I die I want to..." project was started by Nicole Kenney and KS Rives as a result of the end of the polaroid era, where they asked the simple question: What do you want to do before you die? I loved reading the different responses - some were silly while others were incredibly honest. Personally, I wouldn't mind satisfying all 3 of the above! What would your answer be?

pia jane bijkerk

Have you heard of Pia Jane Bijkerk? If not, I highly recommend you check out her blog - Pia is an incredibly talented stylist and an Australian...who lives on a darling little houseboat in Amsterdam! I am infinitely jealous but will live vicariously through her photographs for now...the boat is called le petit bateau. Can you imagine all of her adventures? See more pics of her adorable home here.

i love you more...

And...I'm back from my short break! Here is a cute website that asks the question: What do you use as a measuring stick for love? Mine would be "I love you more than peanut butter on toast" (oh how I love peanut butter...). Submit your own 'I love you' here.

Oh and haha to that Twilight reference in the 2nd row...and I'm not embarassed to admit that I just finished the 3rd book. See, it's not just for tweens!

scanwiches!

According to their website: "Scans of sandwiches for education and delight." Enough said.

See more scanwiches here...

desktop wallpapers

If you're like me, you're always changing your desktop wallpaper because you get bored from staring at the same one everyday. Currently I am using one of Catherine Ledner's animal prints as mine (the beaver one!)...but I am liking this collection of wallpapers from Pixelgirl Presents too. They offer a variety of styles from various artists and graphic designers from all over. You can even submit your own...

lost luggage?

What a cool concept for a website -
Is This Your Luggage is run by a mystery good samaritan who collects lost luggage, takes photos and then posts it online...in hopes of finding the real owner. I think you can learn a lot about a person just from their clothes, not to mention where they went on their vacation!
This one is a little puzzling though...gloves AND shorts and flip flops???

the photographic dictionary

How fantastic are these images from The Photographic Dictionary project? What a clever idea...and all of the photos are just stunning (I especially love that cat one). The best part is, it's still relatively new so they are still accepting submissions (tell all of your photographer friends)!

deep thought of the day

I thought life was a line...I now know it's a grid. So
insightful, in my opinion. Read more things I have learned in my life so far here.

Have a wonderful weekend...and for those in Austin, enjoy SXSW!

human clock

Have you heard of humanclock.com? It's a website that shows a photograph of the current time (sometimes you really have to look for it), with the photo changing every minute of the day. I think the concept is so creative and the fact that you can submit your own pretty much guarantees that there are some wacky/hilarious clock pictures out there.
