our home!

Since today is the 2 year anniversary of buying our first house, I thought I'd share a few photos of the inside if you'd like to see...

Above is our living room area, where we spend 90% of our time when we're not sleeping. My favorite thing in this room is the giant gold mirror on the mantle - we found it abandoned in the garage by the previous owners!

A collection of art and photographs that I love...including a few of Kyle's drawings, our wedding invitation, honeymoon in Santorini, and a stuffed felt albino manatee from etsy

Because our house isn't very big, we turned one of the corners of our living room into the "entryway"...which is basically where we throw all of our junk every time we step inside.

I, like everyone else, am obsessed with organizing books by color. While it's pretty to look at, it's not terribly efficient when you're trying to find a particular book...

Kyle really loved the wall color the previous owners chose so we decided to keep it. At first I didn't like how dark it made our bedroom, but there's something so calming and relaxing about dark walls. I'm a believer now.

I blew up a photo from our trip to Palm Springs...I heart Joshua trees!

The dining room is a mish mash of both of our tastes - Kyle likes dark wood and I'm a fan of anything modern. The George Nelson bubble lamp was one of the very first things I convinced Kyle to buy when we moved in!

Map of Iceland that I dragged back miraculously unscathed from our trip last year. The record player was a gift I gave Kyle for Christmas...we are now obsessed with buying vinyl and visiting record shops.

Our modest kitchen...not exactly my dream kitchen but it will do for now. I dream of the day when we'll have ample counter space, a big farmhouse sink, and  zero fluorescent lights.

The one bathroom in the house is tiny. I read somewhere that mirrors bounce off light and make a room appear larger...hence all of the hanging mirrors.

A little painting from Peru that I picked up in a nearby vintage shop. The owner told me the "canvas" is actually stretched goat intestine. Interesting.

Because I work from home, I needed a space to call my own...so we converted the breakfast nook into a little study.

Our simple guest room...perfect for any friends and relatives who want to come visit (ahem)!!!

The little backyard deck is still a work in progress, but it's become a favorite place for us to hang out and relax with a glass of wine.

Hope you've enjoyed my little tour! xo
