What can I say? I've officially entered the third trimester and cannot believe how fast time is flying by. In between cleaning and organizing our entire house like a crazy person, we've also started going to Lamaze classes and researching local day cares. It's madness, I tell ya!
One of the things that has kept me going is being able to curl up on the couch each night with this sweet little guy...he used to love sleeping in my lap but now that my belly has gotten in the way, he's adjusted to sleeping beside it with his arms outstretched. Almost as if he is trying to hug his little sister! I'm not sure if Pancho actually knows that she's there but I think baby girl sure does, judging by the number of kicks I get once he starts snoring next to her....I have to admit, the whole thing does melt my heart a little:)
Poor Pancho has grown to really dread his annual turtle costume...so much that he even protested on our walk this year! Ok fine you win, we'll get you a new costume next year;)

There's nothing quite like the feeling of coming home after you've been out of town for a couple of days...and even though I enjoyed seeing my friends, family, and coworkers very much, I think there was always a part of me that was counting down the hours/minutes/seconds until I could leave again. Seriously, I was even having trouble sleeping at night (at my parents' house, in my old bed even)! Maybe I'm turning into a sappy old woman, who knows...
All I know is I felt like my heart was literally going to explode after coming home and seeing Kyle and this little guy:
Yes, his slobber, fur, and nose smudges all over my car windows may drive me crazy sometimes...but it's ok, because he's worth it;)

Yes, he may be carved out of wood and from an antique mall not too far from our house, but he's ours now! Pancho was not very impressed to say the least :)
Happy Birthday to our handsome little bully...I can't believe Pancho is already two years old! Hard to believe that right after we first brought him home, I had briefly thought about giving him back to the breeder (guess who forgot how hard it was to raise a puppy???). But I'm so grateful Kyle convinced me otherwise...because he's the sweetest goofball ever and I can't imagine our lives without him. Thank you Pancho for being the ham that you are and making us laugh every single day!

Just a few photos of Pancho at the park from yesterday...we've been trying to take advantage of this amazing weather right now as much as possible. Unfortunately, the soon-to-be unbearable Texas heat is just around the corner...yuck. Hope you all had a nice Easter weekend!
Our sweet dog sitter, Abba, sent us these handsome photos of Pancho while we were in Mexico...so of course I had to share. He looks pretty dashing in his tartan necktie, no?
Ok, not really. But poor Pancho had to have minor surgery over the weekend (due to a suspicious wart)...and now our little guy is a cone-head. A pretty adorable cone-head, though.
I knew from the beginning that owning a bulldog would be expensive, but it still baffles me that he's already been through four surgeries and he's not even two years old. It's too bad the vet can't give us a punch card or something because I'd totally love a free sub after his 10th one:) Here's to hoping that never happens...
I suppose it's common knowledge that most animals are nesters, but I only recently noticed this with Pancho and his bone blanket that he sleeps with every night.
Each morning, when I got up to let him out, his blanket would always be in a different spot or position! I can just picture Pancho working furiously during the night in hopes of getting his bed just right. The one above made me smile...it looks like he purposely created a mini barricade in front of his door. I hope this isn't a sign of Pancho's teenage years to come;)

If you're reading this, I just want to say thank you! I know I've been slacking on the blog...I think I've been spending all of my social media energy on Instagram lately, but it's not the same. I miss blogging!
Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's that time of year for...Christmas cards!! Last year, we used one of the photos from our family photo session and the year before that, we had my sister take the picture for us. But this year, we thought we could do it ourselves (how hard could sitting still for five seconds with a squirmy 50 pound bulldog be?). Turns out, impossibly hard.

First photo taken with my new iPhone 5 (thanks Kyle)! I call this one "Second Breakfast"...after cleaning out his bowl, Pancho sat down and wouldn't budge. I'm pretty sure he was asking for a second serving of dog kibble in silent protest. Some things never change...

I've mentioned before how Pancho likes to sometimes bring home tree branches from our walks...well this time he bit off more than he could chew. Poor little guy, he pushed and pulled for five whole minutes but the branch just wouldn't budge:)
Yea...I think *someone* would agree with me that it's been a pretty hot summer so far. That someone can also appreciate a good ice cube or two:)

Have you heard of the "Hide A Squirrel"? Apparently it's a dog toy that's part puzzle, part stuffed animal. And to top it off, it's supposed to keep dogs entertained for long periods of time. So of course we had to buy one for Pancho. And of course I had to take a few photos to document the whole thing.

Wanted to end the week with some Pancho love...his new favorite thing to do on walks is to drag tree branches (often 2 or 3 times his size) home with him. With his head and chest held high as he struts, you'd think he was carrying valuable treasure...
Needless to say, we've accumulated a rather large pile of sticks and branches in our front yard...I'm sure our neighbors think we are horribly messy when it comes to lawn care;)
