Our sweet Hallie passed away unexpectedly Monday morning...my heart feels so heavy as I write this. She was a monumental part of my life for the past 13 years and shortly after it happened, all I could think about was how unfair it was and how having her all these years was not worth the amount of sheer pain in the end. But then I realized I would have never experienced the amount of unconditional love that only a dog like her could give. I'm going to miss the way she smelled (especially her paws)...how she was the most talented hide-n-seek player in the world and could always find me...how she wouldn't leave my side when she knew I was sad...among other things. 

Anyone who knew her knows that she was somewhat of a worrywart. The vet told us she was too smart for her own good (and she was!)...always worrying about us all the time. I am thankful that she no longer has to worry anymore.

Gloomy days like today call for lots of daytime naps...oh how envious I am. Pretty sure Hallie is peeking at me with one eye open when I snapped this photo...that sly dog.

Since Pancho has pretty much taken over the blog (and our lives, really), I thought I'd post a few photos of my Hallie girl...here she is lying on her favorite rug, trying her best to blend in:)

Some silly photo booth fun from over the weekend...if you can't tell, Hallie hates getting her picture taken the most, followed by Kyle, Pancho and lastly me. I sense this year's xmas card will be a challenge...

Last week, Hallie was attacked by another dog on our street during one of our daily walks. The whole thing lasted only a few seconds, but she ended up having to get sutures and drains sewn into her. It was a very traumatic time for us but I'm happy to say that she's on the road to recovery. I'm amazed each day by just how brave she is...not to mention her ability to still look adorable, despite having to wear a "cone of shame". We have a follow up appointment with the vet later today, so please wish us luck!

P.S. Yes, I know eating chocolate is bad for me and it drives my mom crazy but I can't help it. I am really sneaky and good at finding it too, even if she tries to hide it on top of a piano."

Happy Birthday Megan! I'm so proud to be your older sister...even if it sometimes feels like we are twins (hey, it's not my fault that we sound the same and can also read each other's minds). Thank you for keeping me sane through the whole wedding planning chaos (and through everything else in life). Love ya!
