Over the weekend, my parents came up to see us so we got to hang out, overstuff ourselves silly with good food, and visit the Fort Worth Botanic Garden (photos to come tomorrow). After touring the gardens, we were all so exhausted that we came back to the house and snoozed for the rest of the afternoon. Yay for family naps!

Bits and pieces from the past couple of days...Kyle and I have been taking it easy at home mostly, especially after I caught a pretty nasty cold last week. We did manage to buy a gorgeous Japanese maple tree from our local nursery...I love its red leaves because it reminds me of fall.
My sister is on break from school this week so I'm excited to just hang out with her, bake cupcakes, and maybe do a little shopping in Dallas!
I'm always so curious as to what people keep on their nightstands...I like to display a few of my favorite things...a small dish filled with jewelry, a gorgeous bird painting (flea market find), and a family photo. Kyle uses his to store books, more books, and occasionally a magazine or two:)
Guess who turned one year old today! We celebrated with a block of cheddar cheese (his favorite) and a rainbow party hat...which he hated almost as much as his turtle hat:) xo

Because Kyle and I couldn't remember the last time we went on a "real" date, we decided to go out this past weekend to a little fancy restaurant we've been hearing all sorts of good things about. Both the food and coconut mojitos were amazing...we can't wait for another reason to go back. Not pictured: our pit stop for donuts on the way home just because...definitely not a pretty sight!
