her

Last night, Kyle and I had an impromptu date night where we went and watched the movie, her. I had heard rave reviews from several friends recently and since Kyle got to pick the movie last time (yep, The Hobbit 2), it was my turn, woohoo!

And I have to say...I *loved* it. It is definitely as quirky as it comes across but also strangely beautiful (and hilarious! and awkward!). Would highly recommend.

moonrise kingdom

We saw Wes Anderson's 'Moonrise Kingdom' yesterday ($5 matinee, woohoo!) and it was every bit as good as everyone says! Just the right amount of quirky funny charm that he does so well...oh and Bill Murray was brilliant.

beginners

Have you seen the movie Beginners? Kyle and I rented it last night and I was beyond floored. Sad, funny, heartfelt...and the acting was superb. We also found out that the story was partly autobiographical, after the writer/director Mike Mills' own experiences...which makes it that much more powerful. Highly recommend!

This looks so sweet and heartfelt. I hope the film comes to Texas...

drive-in movie

Last Friday, Kyle and I packed up the cone-dog and went to our first drive-in movie theater ever. While the movie itself wasn't very good, it felt wonderful to watch it with the windows down, cool breeze blowing and us cozied up in the backseat. Plus, I love anything that involves nachos! We tried to stay for the double feature, since it was a film we actually wanted to see...but we were so sleepy by the end that we just drove back home and called it a night. Maybe next time...

P.S. I love how my camera focused in on Hallie and made us blurry in the background by comparison:)

eat pray love

One of the many books I brought along on our honeymoon was Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I know I'm probably the last one on Earth to jump onto the bandwagon, having just read it for the first time but I absolutely loved it. I can honestly say there are very few books out there that have inspired me as much as this one did. I even bought a book in Italian from a small bookstore in Santorini - even though I don't speak a word of Italian. Just so I could read it out loud on our balcony...I'm sure the neighbors thought I was crazy but it just sounded so beautiful. I can't to see the movie!

P.S. I finally got around to sorting through hundreds of photos (but felt like thousands) and will be posting about my bachelorette party tomorrow!

No way am I anywhere near ready to have a baby, but this movie trailer made me smile. I can't wait to see it in theaters!
