Oh my gosh, how adorable are these custom "pet portraits" by Sian Keegan? Each one is so incredibly detailed and the perfect, travel size companion. The very top one is seriously killing me with cuteness...yarn fur and all. See more here.
I'm a little obsessed with Mimi Jung's (of Brook&Lyn) beautiful Brooklyn home. It's the perfect mix of vintage and modern, but still cozy...I love how she made a custom drum tabletop out of geodes. Oh, and those string curtains are to die for.
Spring has officially arrived at our house. From Kyle getting bit by the gardening bug to me dusting off my favorite pair of sandals...oh and trying to incorporate either avocado or blueberries with every meal. Something about the sunny but still cool, picture perfect weather has me craving fruit, salads...pretty much anything that can be considered light and refreshing. Anyone who lives or has lived in Texas knows this weather is sadly only temporary, soon to be followed by waves of sticky hotness all summer long. So we're enjoying it while we can!
Oh, and Hallie gets her stitches out this week...:)
Loving the new food video series over at elephantine...I'm a sucker for homemade pasta and she makes it look so easy! The song choice is delightful too.
Have you heard of "glamping"? It's an upscale (or glamorous) form of camping, full of little luxuries (think pre-pitched tents and teepees, Turkish rugs, lanterns, remote-controlled fireplaces) that is still eco-friendly. I'd love to visit the UK and stay at one of these places and fall asleep under the stars. How very romantic!
Saw these prints over at Design*Sponge a little while ago and they were too pretty not to share...the colors make me so happy.
P.S. Thank you for your sweet comments yesterday! The vet visit went well and only 9 more days until they can remove her stitches. I know she is secretly counting the days...
Last week, Hallie was attacked by another dog on our street during one of our daily walks. The whole thing lasted only a few seconds, but she ended up having to get sutures and drains sewn into her. It was a very traumatic time for us but I'm happy to say that she's on the road to recovery. I'm amazed each day by just how brave she is...not to mention her ability to still look adorable, despite having to wear a "cone of shame". We have a follow up appointment with the vet later today, so please wish us luck!
Last night, I used this recipeto make roasted pepper and goat cheese sandwiches. This was my first time roasting peppers in the oven and I have to admit, it was pretty easy. Rotating them twice during baking gave them the perfect smokey-charred flavor that I was hoping for (even after peeling off the skins!). I'm so happy I made enough for another sandwich or two.
Hello, I hope your weekend was wonderful! I had an amazing but busy time in Austin all of last week...saw so many good friends and ate way too much yummy food. My sister came up from Houston and we attempted to shop for our spring wardrobes...found a cute floral mini that I just love! Kyle and I also raided the soon-to-be-closing Borders bookstore (yay for 40% off)...I managed to snag a few classics that I've been wanting for our ever growing collection of books. It's funny how the books I want to buy and keep forever are the same ones that I was forced to read in school...maybe that's why we read them I guess.
P.S. Fashion blogger Rumi Neely's firsthand account of being in Japan during the horrible tragedy last week is pretty surreal. Please help if you can.
Absolutely stunning pouches from Scout and Catalogue in Canada...made with leather and canvas, they are hand dyed and inspired by the bohemian beach culture of Mexico. I can't get enough of their tie-dyed scarves either.
Spent the weekend without a camera for the most part, so instead I'm sharing a few recent photos from here and there that I took with my iPhone. Here's to hoping this crazy week will pass by fast!
Welcome to the place where I write about the people + things that I love. Fashion, art, macarons, and bulldogs to name a few.
