Received a surprise package in the mail on Friday - turns out the lovely Hwasoon of Morning Calm sent me a few samples of her beautiful soaps after seeing my post! Thank you Hwasoon! They smell heavenly and I can't wait to try them all...the red bean soap (on top) looks almost good enough to eat:) Kyle worked out in the yard most of the weekend, but I did manage to drag him to the antique mall with me for a little bit. Yes, I was just there last weekend with my sister but I don't think you understand just how obsessed I am with this place...too.many.amazing.finds. Since Kyle has the green thumb in our relationship, he's decided to start growing a few vegetables so we can have a garden. So far, the broccoli, lettuce, lima bean and the heirloom tomato have already sprouted and we could not be more excited!

Happy Friday friends! I hope you like the few modest changes I've made to the blog recently...I plan on making a few more so please excuse any crazy-that-does-not-look-right sightings you might see in the upcoming weeks. I had a slight freak out moment last night where I thought I deleted everything and am still recovering...

Oh and how cute is this heart grilled sandwich made of strawberries, mascarpone cheese and nutella? It looks insanely delicious to me and perfect for a little breakfast in bed this weekend.

Haha, I had to do a double take when I first saw this tank top...what looks like leopard at first glance is actually a chicken nugget print! I love little surprises like that, don't you?:)

With my sister visiting from Houston, we made a quick day trip to Dallas to play and shop and eat cute cupcakes. I took more photos but must have deleted them by accident because they are nowhere to be found. We also explored a large antique mall/flea market here in Fort Worth...when I say large, I really mean gigantic. My eyes hurt after only an hour because there were too many amazing finds! Found the most perfect little wooden stool for our house, which I'm sure I'll post on the blog sooner or later. Yay for vintage treasures.

weekend snapshots

Our weekend was filled with lots of eating, reading and sleeping in, otherwise known as the perfect weekend . We finally broke out our coffee maker that we received from our wedding for the first time. The fact that it is programmable makes me so happy! I made Ina Garten's mushroom lasagna and key lime pie, both turned out amazingly as expected...you really can't go wrong with any of her recipes. Here's to hoping I'll be able to save a piece of pie for my sister who is coming to visit next weekend!

One of my favorite traditions that Kyle and I celebrate is going out for breakfast on Valentine's Day...it's way less crowded and I can always satisfy my everlasting sweet tooth. Coming home to a gawdy heart-shaped box of chocolates helps too (my favorite). Hope yours was extra special!

Found this old post from a trip to Love Shack with my sister and Kyle last year...while their burgers are tasty, their battered portobello mushroom is what I always order because it's so amazing (along with a chocolate cherry milkshake). Too bad my sister had to move so far away...ok, only Houston, but still.
