weekend snapshots

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! Ours was all about stuffing ourselves silly, with family and friends sprinkled in. We spent a few days in Austin so Kyle could play his annual football game with his buddies, as well as do some furniture shopping and eat some tex-mex...you can tell by my lack of photos that I was pretty lazy with my camera. Oh well.

P.S. So sorry for the shortage of posts lately! Life has just been getting in the way but I promise it will be back to normal soon:)

weekend snapshots

Despite what feels like a heat wave in Texas right now, it's finally starting to look like fall around here. Spent most of the weekend hanging out at the house with the windows open and taking long strolls around the neighborhood admiring the trees. It's my favorite time of the year and I'm so excited the holidays are just around the corner!

Oh yeah, and Anthropologie opened its first store in Fort Worth this past weekend...can someone say hallelujah:)

happy friday + greece honeymoon pics!

Because I got a super awesome scanner for my birthday (thanks mom!), I thought I'd share a few of my favorite polaroids from our honeymoon in Greece this past July! These photos pretty much sum up the amazing time we had: picture perfect weather, breathtaking sunsets and clear blue seas everywhere you looked. But our favorite part had to have been the complimentary breakfast that was served to us on our own private little balcony overlooking the water each morning (I ate ungodly amounts of croissants and Greek yogurt as a result of this). We absolutely loved every minute of it and can't wait to go back someday:)

I've always been a fan of "before and afters" but this one was such a cute transformation that I just had to share. Who would have thought to turn an old TV entertainment system into a repurposed play kitchen for their grandaughter? Genius, I'll say! Now if only redoing my actual kitchen was that easy...

Sorry for the delay in posts this week! Things have been a little crazy around here...but here are a few bits from my weekend:

*I seriously forgot how tasty mall pretzels are (and addicting). Yum...
*My sister took me to this amazing shop in Dallas full of design-inspired home goods, toys and prints, from independent and local/international designers. I wanted to take the whole store home with me!
*Met up with Kyle's parents for a belated birthday lunch at a good 'ol bbq joint.
*Jumped for joy when my xmas/holiday cards that I ordered came in the mail...they are so stinkin' cute.

birthday meal

Last night, we went out for sushi to celebrate my birthday. It was just the two of us, so I wore my sparkly jacket and my new lipstick and felt extra special. Afterwards, we got ice cream sandwiches to go and ate them (messily) in the car. It was perfect:)

weekend snapshots

Halloween weekend was pretty low key at our house...while both Kyle and I always say we'll dress up every year, we honestly never get past the costume idea phase. Instead, I wore my favorite tie dye leggings and we went out for pho with one of Kyle's coworkers and his lovely wife! Lots of trick-or-treaters stopped by during the night and after it was all over...we turned down the lights, lit some candles and watched old, cheesy scary movies until we fell asleep. Happy Halloween indeed.
