happy weekend!

Hooray for Friday! Was it just me or did it feel like this week was never-ending? Starting on Monday, I'll be posting a few details from our wedding as well as many, many lovely photos...we hope you like them as much as we do. xo.

P.S. These goofy ones were taken by the fabulous Annie Ray. We absolutely adore her and her Smilebooth! :)

handmade necklaces

NECKLACE WITH WOOD CUBE BEAD
NECKLACE WITH TURQUOISE CUBE
NECKLACE WITH COLOR BEADS

I am seriously in love with these simply beautiful necklaces by Alyson Fox. I want to buy a whole bunch and wear them all at the same time, over a simple tee. Starting with this one that I just ordered for myself...will be stalking the mailbox over the next week...

weekend snapshots

Hanging out at home and pigging out is our "thing" now:

* Kyle bought me grocery store sushi. It's called a "Dynamite Roll" but I call it a Dynamo Roll because it sounds better.
* My favorite pair of light denim, high-waisted sailor shorts. The buttons are the best.
* Met Holly the beagle...she likes to chase flies (unsuccessfully).
* Natural flavored frozen yogurt + apple cinnamon granola = tastes like breakfast.
* The newest addition to our family...best wedding gift ever (thanks to my sis!).

hello kitty party

A few days before the wedding (and in lieu of the typical "bachelorette party" so that I didn't die from absolute embarrassment), my super sweet and insanely gorgeous girlfriends threw me a Hello Kitty themed celebration dinner at my favorite restaurant.

And yes, I almost died from all that cuteness.

The talk of the party had to be the adorable Hello Kitty cake pops, made by my oh-so-talented friend, kathyphantastic. Did you notice she even included my blog in her display? Yeah, she's pretty fantastic.

We ate, we drank and then we ate some more. The waiter even wrote me the sweetest little note on my leftovers - it made me melt and feel all giddy inside. We had a wonderful time...I am so thankful for these girls, I love them so much!

eat pray love

One of the many books I brought along on our honeymoon was Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I know I'm probably the last one on Earth to jump onto the bandwagon, having just read it for the first time but I absolutely loved it. I can honestly say there are very few books out there that have inspired me as much as this one did. I even bought a book in Italian from a small bookstore in Santorini - even though I don't speak a word of Italian. Just so I could read it out loud on our balcony...I'm sure the neighbors thought I was crazy but it just sounded so beautiful. I can't to see the movie!

P.S. I finally got around to sorting through hundreds of photos (but felt like thousands) and will be posting about my bachelorette party tomorrow!

weekend snapshots

A pretty low key weekend, just the way I like it:

* Ikea cinnamon buns are surprisingly tasty (though nothing compares to homemade)...
* Hallie had a bellyache for the past couple of days so she was looking extra sad.
* Bought Kyle a few of his favorite American Apparel tees (they're so soft!). That striped skirt I bought for myself.
* Didn't find the pair of shoes that I wanted but there's isn't anything in the world that a couple of egg custard tarts won't fix :)

tchotchke won’t rest until he figures out what ’80s tv show to name his band after

charlie has convinced himself that spending $11 a day at the whole foods salad bar isn’t exactly “eating out” since it’s technically a grocery store

Have I told you how much I love Hipster Puppies? Especially the ones that wear glasses.

have a lovely weekend

A few of our wedding photos came yesterday! And this one is by far my favorite. It was the last shot taken at the very end of the day, after all of the guests had left. I guess I love it so much because we both look so happy...and possibly relieved that it was all over.

We sure had a blast though.

Have a lovely weekend and see you next week!

being married

Now that I've been married for almost a full three weeks, I've started to notice little things that make me love him even more...like how he adds the word "wife" after everything he says now. I love you wife. How was your day today wife?

Makes me feel like two little otters from my favorite video of all time all over again...
I'm liking this whole married thing.

My new favorite housewares site - what I wouldn't give for a Thomas Eyck throw or pillow...aren't the colors simply gorgeous?

dome animals

Owl Under GlassPorcelain Cats with Dome

All I can say is cute, cute, cute. Who wouldn't want to own a porcelain owl and/or 2 little porcelain cats on a black wooden base underneath a glass dome? Yeah, I can't think of anyone either.

raw studs

Love these crystal studs...I saw so much jewelry during the trip that I wanted to bring home with me...but they were all too expensive (though they were made of real gold). I don't feel as bad with these pretty ones as a subsitute though (and they're on sale!)

weekend snapshots

Recovering from jetlag is awful...but at least I got to hang out at home with my honey. We did nothing but eat and decorate our house the last couple of days and I couldn't be happier (though the 3 trips to Target in 3 days probably could have been avoided). I definitely recommend saving a few extra days at the end of any vacation to just "relax"...you won't regret it!

hello again!

So sorry for the long absence...I had wanted to write one last post before the wedding craziness happened but it is true what they say...the whole thing goes by so fast! Before I knew it I was on the plane to Greece for our honeymoon! I have so many photos to share and will also be posting about my favorite parts of the wedding soon so please check back.

As always, thanks for reading :)
