friendship bracelets

Such pretty Frieda and Nellie friendship bracelets...I could definitely layer several of these at a time and wear them with pretty much anything and everything.

weekend snapshots

Sorry for the delay in posts this week, lots of things happening right now and I've officially moved to Fort Worth, TX! It's so exciting to finally be here for good and I can't wait for new adventures to start. Also:

*Box of chocolates from my sweetie, celebrating what would have been our 8 year dating anniversary (hey, we're cheesy).
*Best.
tacos. ever. Try the Jess Special...you won't regret it.
*Look who's ready for the big move!
*New plant friends for our bathroom window. I think they like it here.
*Oh yeah, I'm a blondie now.

3 months

I can't believe it's already been three months since our wedding day. I love him so much I can't stand it sometimes...love you babe!

P.S. The photo above shows Kyle for who he really is: a serious pillow hog:)

hallie says

" Happy Friday!
I hope you get to go on many car rides and eat lots of chocolate (my 2 most favorite things to do ever).

P.S. Yes, I know eating chocolate is bad for me and it drives my mom crazy but I can't help it. I am really sneaky and good at finding it too, even if she tries to hide it on top of a piano."

Love, Hallie

abstract sandwiches

It took me a few seconds, but I got it: abstract sandwich art by Dan Kenneally. From his" Lunchbox" series…aren’t they so clever? The PB&J is my favorite, though the ice-cream sandwich is a close second.

P.S. The middle one is supposed to be a cheesesteak, but I think it looks more like a cheeseburger (guess that's not really a "sandwich" though).

Update: Dan emailed me and let me know that he already has a cheeseburger!

weekend snapshots

It's finally starting to feel like fall here, which in Texas means occasional rain showers and below 90F degree weather (yippee)! I had a lovely time catching up with my fabulous friend, Kathy, getting pedicures, brunching (Belgian waffles with strawberry butter mmm) and partaking in Austin Museum Day:

*Perfectly pedicured toes in my new favorite shade of red.
*Random shots from within the Blanton Museum of Art...yes, those are bones and feathers.
*Sleepy Hallie and her sleepy paws.

hey, i love you

Such a great song for a Friday (or any day for that matter).
I dare you to sit still while listening to it (it's pretty much impossible).

See ya Monday!

a collection a day

I love checking out what Lisa Congdon posts on her blog, “A Collection a Day, 2010” each day…Lisa is an artist living in San Francisco that photographs (and occasionally draws or paints) real-life collections that exist in her home/studio. I think it’s fascinating to see the vast range of collectibles she has and I wonder how she organizes and stores them (Shoeboxes? Desk drawers?).

The Kerr mason jars made me smile – as I too have quite a collection around the house that were leftover from the wedding!

you are...

Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone said these things to us every day? Or better yet, if we said them to someone else? Happy Wednesday!

ring envy

Simple gold rings with such amazing textures by the talented Satomi Kawakita. I am seriously in love with all of them. She also does engagement/wedding pieces. See more rings here.

weekend snapshots

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine involved a lot of college football (go longhorns!) and a few random highlights:

*A curious chicken that greeted us at the local garden nursery. There were ducks and turkeys too!
*Some of our favorite kid books growing up (for a friend's upcoming baby shower).
*Spotted our first food trailer here in Fort Worth! Sadly, the tacos were only so-so.
*Brunch with my lovely sister in Dallas (followed by lots of shopping).
*Homemade margherita pizza and more football watching with the boy...enough said.

ice cream cone pinata

What a fabulous idea for a party...it's almost too cute to break! Not to mention strawberry is my favorite flavor ever. Read the instructions on how to make here.

critter hats

I know I'm probably too old for this, but I really want one of these animal earflap hats from Urban Outfitters. They look so warm and cozy. I think the raccoon one is my favorite!

weekend snapshots

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful 3-day weekend. We spent ours visiting Kyle's parents at their weekend house in Graham, Texas. It felt so nice to just relax with family and not worry about anything:

*In the car, on our way to our little adventure (don't worry, we were stopped at the gas station)!
*The many, many long dirt roads we found in the middle of nowhere.
*Some of the rustic decor inside, courtesy of Kyle's dad (yes, you can even see his teeth!).
*Our big meal, courtesy of Kyle's mom (not pictured because I ate them all: the most scrumptious chocolate chip cookies ever).
*The super adorable Daihatsu truck we rode around in while exploring. Aren't his parents so cute?!
*A little friend stopped by to visit and say hi.
*Farm fresh watermelon for sale...we chose a giant yellow watermelon to take home with us. Kyle even sang a watermelon song on the way back (but lucky for you I won't be sharing).
*Soothing colors from the rock-filled driveway.
*Peaceful sunset at the house. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

**The best part of the weekend (besides seeing family) was getting to see two shooting stars and the Milky Way for the first time ever (and practically every other constellation known to man). I wish I knew how to use the manual settings on my camera so I could have shared with you. But it's incredible how much of the night sky you can see outside a city...absolutely took my breath away.

danny & annie

Wow. This animated short tells the true story of Danny and Annie and the incredible love they had for each other until the end. This is what love (and marriage) is about. You must watch!

baby card

Isn't this
baby card from Rifle super cute? Not that I'll need one personally anytime soon...but it seems like everyone I know is expecting or has babies on the brain! Guess I should start stocking up!

bob schneider concert

Last week, I had the great privilege to attend an Austin City Limit's taping with my friend Sarah...featuring one of my all-time favorite local artists, Bob Schneider. It's been 10 years since Bob was last on the show, and as expected he was nothing short of amazing. The two of us were pretty well-behaved during the entire concert - with the exception of us belting out all the lyrics to '40 dogs' (quite loudly!) as well as busting out our dance moves during 'Bombananza'. But probably the best part of the night was getting to meet his parents at the end of the show, both of whom were adorable (his dad wore crocs hee hee:).

P.S. The taping will air sometime in October on PBS!
