Doesn't this look amazing?! It's a fried donut. With cream cheese icing. Topped with fresh strawberries. I actually had a chance to try Gourdough's here in Austin earlier this week...and while I tried a different donut (chocolate frosting with grilled strawberries), this one is definitely on my must-try list for next time.

Oh, and there's one with bacon.

espadrilles

Hands down, my favorite shoe for the summer. These espadrille wedges are super comfortable and go with anything from jeans to linen shorts to summer dresses...those ladies over at Marais USA really know what they are doing. I have the red pair (which you can see me wearing here) but I really want them in every color!

dog cards

I always love anything illustrator Anna Bond comes up with, especially this super cute assorted dog card set! Now if only she had made one of you know who...

succulent love

Now all I can think about is how much I want to decorate the entire house with little succulents everywhere. They are so simple yet stunning to look at...not to mention easy to take care of (a BIG plus for me!).

Haha, I really like cute boys with cats. As it says on the website, "because there is a serious shortage of pictures of cute boys with cats." I couldn't have said it better myself!

And yes, that is Ian Somerhalder in the last photo...aka Boone from the TV show, Lost. I still remember him from that summer series, 'Young Americans' way back in the day :)

honeymoon ideas

So with all of the recent volcano news lately, I'm thinking a honeymoon to Iceland is out of the question. Our next thought was to visit Greece - especially Santorini because it is both romantic and peaceful. Plus there is so much history to explore within the country itself. The only problem is it's pretty expensive despite the recession that's currently going on over there...do you have any suggestions on where we should visit? Any help is appreciated!

A nice alternative to a real zebra head (or any 'real' animal head for that matter)…and it's covered in vintage French book pages! I'd love to have one for our new house...above the fireplace mantle perhaps?

spring haircut

Guess who just got a new haircut for Spring...oh and TGIF!

LA recap

Kyle and I had an amazing time during our short stay in LA. Some of the highlights included:

• Staying in the cutest little French boutique hotel
• Bumping into a semi-celebrity at a local bagel shop in Beverly Hills
• Walking down Rodeo Drive & seeing the hotel from one of my all-time favorite movies
• Visiting The Getty and its spectacular garden (not to mention the incredible view!)
• 3 words: best ramen ever. I'm still getting cravings for it even now...
• And of course, hanging out with a few of our wonderful friends :)

While I love taking litte mini vacations, I can't help but get excited already for our upcoming honeymoon! Only a little over two months to go...

Gorgeous wooden cake stands by Herriott Grace - a father daughter team out of Canada...aren't they just perfect? I'd love to bake a little birthday cake for a special friend and put it on display. They also make wooden spoons, cheese boards, rolling pins and more.

central market

Have I told you how obsessed I am with Central Market? So much that I drag Kyle there every time I'm visiting him in Fort Worth (hello, avocado+tomato+artichoke spread sandwich!)...and while I do also love my Whole Foods, something's got to be said for being able to buy the really bad-for-you, really orangey but super delicious Kraft mac 'n cheese...along with the organic stuff too. I'm just sayin'.

Any fun plans for the weekend? I'm going up to Fort Worth again to see my boy and to look at paint swatches...for our new HOUSE that we just bought (we close at the end of this month so cross your fingers for us)! I am so excited that we are finally building a home together...I heart him and our little house SO much. Have a fabulous weekend!

I always love seeing what people hang above their bed...as it is usually meaningful in some way (and everyone is a little different). Seeing this artwork made me smile, I don't think I would even mind making the bed each morning after reading that!

Hooray for the weekend! Kyle and I are taking a mini vacation to LA for a few days...this is our first time visiting so we can't wait to soak up the sun, see a few friends and eat some of the good food that we always hear about! See you next week!
