lemon bird jams

Have you ever seen the Sex and the City episode where the girls talk about what they do when they're at home and no one is around? I remember Carrie mentioning something about eating jelly/jam on saltine crackers and I thought that sounded so gross...but then I tried it myself one day and it's actually delicious! The perfect combination of sweet and salty. I know it's random but seeing these jams reminded me of that show...flavors like blood orange, cherry with organic star anise and plum with Sichuan pepper sound like they would be amazing on a couple of saltines...

P.S. Is anyone else counting down the days to the movie sequel? I know I am.

bulldog birthday party

If you've read this blog for more than a few days then you know my love for bulldogs (ie. here, here and here). So I think my heart pretty much exploded when I saw these photos of a recent bulldog birthday party! Can you imagine? All those goofy faces and chubby legs running around together! I vow to start my very own bulldog club someday, no matter where I live. See more of her pics here.

Oh my gosh, doesn't this caramel look amazing? The best part is they ship the bars to you whole - so you can slice the pieces however thick/thin you'd like them to be. I'd love to try the fleur de sel and pecan pie flavors...yum. They also make homemade marshmallows too!

alice in wonderland

I watched Alice in Wonderland 3D this past weekend with Kyle and my sister...and overall found it fascinating. While the story could have been better, I think it was very well done and I loved all of the characters...especially Absolem The Caterpillar, voiced by Alan Rickman. I don't think I could ever get tired of his dry wit, it's priceless!

Wedding season has officially kicked off, as Kyle and I have 2 to go to this month. And as much as I appreciate the convenience of a registry, I'm always looking for unique or creative "out-of-the-box" gift ideas for my friends. Did anyone else think this year's Oscars was way more emotional than previous years? Seemed like everyone was either very sentimental or crying…

Favorite dresses included Sandra Bullock's, Rachel McAdams' and Maggie Gyllenhaal's…I also loved that Meryl Streep's dress was by Chris March. Yay for Project Runway!

And I just had to include the Modern Family commercial that aired last night…so hilarious. You must see this show if you haven't already!!!

cupcake love

Finally tried my first cupcake from the well known Sugar Mama's Bakeshop this past weekend and all I can say is Best. Cupcake. Ever. The one above was called 'Strawberry Love' and had actual strawberry bits in it! Kyle had the 'Hula' (vanilla cupcake with cream cheese frosting topped with coconut shavings)...sooo yummy.

I think I can die happy now.
