happy halloween

Yay for Halloween! I always love an excuse to eat candy...maybe a little too much as I've already eaten half the bag that I was going to give the trick-or-treaters tomorrow (time for another grocery trip run). Are you doing anything fun this weekend? I'm so excited because Kyle and I are finally going to go see Where the Wild Things Are. I've heard that it's amazing but a little spooky, so I can't wait...have a good one!

Adorable wooden cards by Night Owl Paper Goods...I love that they even do custom wedding invitations and save-the-dates! Too bad I already know what we are doing for our invitations (I'm keeping it a secret for now)...but I promise it's going to be cute :)

How fantastic are these pieces by Sublet Clothing? Based in New York, their philosophy is to only use sustainable materials, practices and processes in making their clothing. I have to admit, usually when I think of 'eco-friendly' clothing I think plain and boring...but these pieces are anything but (try super girly and adorable). I am loving the simple sillouettes and all of those small details...especially that little bow shirt!

Loving these custom digital illustrations by Sadie Raber...all you have to do is send her your favorite photograph and she will draw and color your illustration on archival paper and send your way! Her prices are pretty reasonable too, $50 for either a 12x12 or 11x14 sized print...a perfect gift for an artsy friend...or maybe a friend that enjoys being illustrated (ahem, me). Check out her etsy shop, Emmie Bean (which is named after her cat!).

Nothing goes together better than a bowl of hot tomato soup and a gooey grilled cheese sandwich...except maybe this ceramic bowl and tray duo. It's so adorable and perfectly sized...I'm sure I would find an excuse to use it every day (um, bowl of ice-cream and cookies anyone???).

How was everyone's weekends? Kyle and I went to a wedding for one of my coworkers and it was just lovely...but the best part was that they had their own photo booth there! Have I told you how much I love photo booths?? Poor Kyle...anytime I see one anywhere I just HAVE to take a picture...which usually involves me dragging him into the booth mercilessly. I'll post ours from the wedding once I find a scanner but in the meantime, how cute are these ones by Our Labor of Love for a recent Google party? Omigosh...just too funny and I LOVE those hats!

game day weekend

Happy Friday! Tomorrow is an important day for us longhorns, so please wish us luck! If we end up losing, there will be three very sad fans...but at least we'll still look good in our burnt orange :)

Aren't these silkscreened ties amazing? I love that they are different from the "usual" ties we see...gosh I know it's still a long way off, but I can't wait to see Kyle in his suit and tie on our wedding day! He would totally kill for the map designed one too...

This video has been everywhere in the blog world lately but it still makes me smile everytime I watch it...wouldn't you use the stairs more often if they were all like this?

boot bandits

How cool is this - instead of buying a brand new pair of boots this fall (darn this economy), why not dress up an old pair with a boot bandit? They are made from a variety of fabrics and brass details and have a special non-slip backing so that they don't fall off your boot. handle & spout

Hello! Hope you had a great weekend! I have a nice time hanging out with my sister and Kyle in Dallas...followed by a not-so-nice drive back (rainy/foggy + 3 car accidents = not fun). We enjoyed eating some delicious Italian food, watching Zombieland and opening a few early birthday gifts (ok, it was just me doing the opening). I reaaalllly loved the little flower hairpiece she got me from the lovely ladies of Handle & Spout. So cute and fun...she also gave me one of my all-time favorite movies. Thanks Megan! :)

sleepy weekend

I've been a little overwhelmed from work and thinking about wedding stuff recently (just thinking about ideas, not even planning yet!)...and have already had a few sleepless nights this week. I would love love love to someday own a beautiful dress by the super talented Kate Towers. Her attention to detail is immaculate - and just look at those ruffles! I also just adore this little red orange capelet from her etsy shop too...

bookshelf painting

How cute is this - Jane Mount uses ink and watercolors to paint books on her shelves because "...the books I've read (or in some cases, bought and not read) have had a lot to do with who I am today, and as other folks feel the same they are a point of connection."

The best part is she also does custom bookshelf paintings in her etsy shop! What a thoughtful gift idea for the book lover in your life, don't you think so?

backseat picnic

Kyle and I had been wanting to try TerraBurger for awhile now so we finally did a few weeks ago! The only problem was there wasn't really anywhere to sit...so we decided to have a mini "picnic" in the backseat of the car. My veggie burger was delicious, though surprisingly not as good at this one...and Hallie thoroughly enjoyed several of my sweet potato fries (and some of Kyle's burger bun too). All that was missing was the red and white checkered blanket!

P.S. Don't you just love that last photo where all you see is the top of Hallie's furry head? :)

leopard print

Holy cow...I rarely say the word "fierce" but these photos by Scott Schuman for the new Italian Vogue Pelle magazine are fierce. Leopard print is back stronger than ever it seems, though I doubt I could pull off those bright blue tights! And just how awesome is that skateboard?!

fall weather

Yay we got our first mini "cold front" today (for those who don't live in Austin, that means temperatures in the 60s-70s). It seems like I've been waiting forever for scarf weather so I'm very excited...so dear fall weather, if you could please stay for at least a few more weeks that would be great. Thanks.
