WOW this has got to be one of the most gorgeous homes I have ever seen! Owned by Dallas based graphic designer, Samantha Reitmayer, she was able to create a space that conveyed all things girly + modern + rustic...it is just heavenly, don't you think? So many different textures...and I just love that little mirrored desk!

Have you seen the movie Coraline? I watched it this weekend and was very impressed and freaked out at the same time. Apparently it was directed by Henry Selick, the same director from The Nightmare Before Christmas, if that says anything...and is the first stop-motion feature shot in stereoscopic 3D. Too bad I didn't have my 3-D glasses with me!

A few snapshots from this past weekend:

1) Our lemony-zucchini-goat-cheese pizza! (see previous post)

2) Me & RayAnn...Kyle's 2nd cousin, aka the cutest girl in the whole wide world.

3) Kyle's family lounging in the pool (obviously there was no shortage of beer or hats).

4) Soaking our feet :)

5) Kyle trying to have an intelligent thought...after 7 hours of sun.

6) Yummy chicken & waffles the next morning (oh how I love brunch!).

yellow squash pizza + weekly favorites

Hello...I am in Fort Worth right now, sitting in Kyle's apartment and waiting for my zucchini & yellow squash goat cheese pizza to finish cooking in the oven. I'm having the hardest time being patient though (as evident from my crazy-opening-the-oven-door-every-2-minutes behavior)...sigh. Hurry up, pizza!

Also, here a few things that I didn't get a chance to post about this week:

- Protect your sandwich from a pesky lunch thief (or play a fun joke on someone).

- So in love with Jcrew's new fall catalog - ruffles, ruffles, ruffles!

- The cutest little stamp set ever (is it too early to add this to my birthday list this year?)

I gave these to my friends Runi & Thomas as a wedding shower gift, in hopes that they would put them on their dresser or nightstands...perfect for holding jewelry, coins, cufflinks, or random baubles. Gosh, I can't believe there's only one month left until their wedding, I can't wait!

Agh! I'm so in love with these adorable photo booth pictures by Sasha Souza. She made it by covering the wood with wallpaper and hanging frames over the cut outs...then the bride hung old wedding photos from her and her husband's family! Isn't it so sweet?

What do you think about a blue denim vest? I've been seeing them everywhere lately (in stores, catalogs...not on actual people) so I'm wondering if this fad is short-term. I do like how it toughens up a girly floral dress, though I'm not sure if I could pull this look off myself. Maybe I'm missing that 'cool' factor that these girls obviously have!

How much fun would it be to live in this little house? Designed by John Paananen of the Cranbrook Academy in Michigan, his goal was to take the fused nomadic home designs of the yurt, tipi, and igloo and slip the straitjacket of suburban values, materials, and methods of construction over them. Definitely think he followed his igloo inspirations, don't you? And how gorgeous is the photo mural inside?!

happy monday

Sorry for not posting much last week but I have been in a grumpy mood lately. This weekend was just what I needed to get over it though: lots of baking, movie watching at home (omg how I love The Way We Were!!), bbq, shopping (bought a hat, see above), and a birthday party with friends...hooray! How was your weekend?

P.S. That's Hallie doing her best "Asian doggie" impression...isn't she just the cutest?!

Don't you just love her oufit? So simple and summer-y...it's not fair that French girls always look so pretty & chic all the time. Even though I love her dress, I know Kyle would not approve...it's what he calls a "pillowcase" dress...and despite the fact that I have like 50 of them, I wouldn't hesitate buying another one. They are oh-so-comfortable and excellent when it comes to all-you-can-eat pizza buffets. Hee hee.

happy july 4th + weekly favorites

Every day this week on my way home, I would see a sign by the side of the road that said "Fresh Summer Watermelon"...and a few feet from it would be a nice old man selling watermelons out of his makeshift stand (aka his truck). After 5 days of just driving by, I'm SO excited that I'll finally be able to buy one from him today. I hope I choose a good one :)

Also, here a few things that I didn't get a chance to post about this week:

first crush

Do you remember your first crush? I think everyone I've ever asked can say the first and last name of the very first boy/girl they liked in less than 2 seconds...it's funny how much we can remember sometimes. My first crush was in 2nd grade and I liked him so so much...we teased each other mercilessly to the point that the teacher even had to tell us to quiet down (on several occasions)! I hope he is doing well, wherever he is now. And haha...this little video made me smile. Happy Thursday! :)
