rainbow colors

Lately I've been drawn to colorful things...maybe because it's been so grey and gloomy here weather-wise recently. Below are some that I've been craving for - if only my pocketbook wasn't so sad and empty.

'Map of Europe' rainbow t-shirt - add this, this and this and you've got yourself a cute outfit!

Handwoven raffia "Opal" clutch (would look so perfect with a white summer dress).

Italian leather-bound Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary - book smarts AND style!

P.S. Also, would it be wrong to want to wear these? I LOVE LOVE LOVE them so much :)

scanwiches!

According to their website: "Scans of sandwiches for education and delight." Enough said.

See more scanwiches here...

wolf + pig

This is insane. And amazing. You must watch!

love what you do

Wise words from the thirteenth-century Persian poet, Rumi. Poster by LookyLoo...

Stockholm, Sweden

I'm jealous - my dad just got back from Stockholm, Sweden...where he got to walk around Gamla Stan, do a little sightseeing and eat authentic [Swedish] meatballs. He even saw a Hallie look-alike! I hope I can visit the gorgeous city someday...just seeing those old cobblestone streets make me really miss Europe.

shiny things

I don't wear a lot of jewelry, but I am swooning over these little brass heart necklaces and vintage rose studs from local Austin shop, Spartan (don't worry, they have an online shop too). Either would go perfectly with a plain white t-shirt and jeans...so simple & lovely.

weddings + weekly favorites list

What will you be up to this weekend? I think wedding season has officially begun - because I will be going to 2 in a row (one this week and one next week). I have to admit, I love weddings in general...but someday when it's my turn, I'm not sure I'd want an extravagant affair. Maybe I'm more of a city hall type of gal...followed by a lovely brunch with family & friends of course!

Also, here a few things that I didn't get a chance to post about this week:

- Sleep on your artsy side (Thanks Colin!)

- In case you don't know how babies are made (Via I Heart You)

- Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese...and bed sheets?

- Something cute & floral for mom. Or these!

- Best t-shirt ever (and my personal motto)

Have a good one!

(Photos by featherlove...aren't they just beautiful?!)

treehouse

Wouldn't it be so amazing to live in a treehouse? Just think of all the adventures...oh how I loved that movie, Swiss Family Robinson!

"vintage" plants

In celebration of Earth Day...cute little succulents in vintage cups and tins that even I can take care of...well, supposedly...

wednesday puppies!

I am a huge fan of real-life animal prints so of course I love love love these puppy ones by acclaimed photographer, Sharon Montrose. I heart and want all of them (the puppies but the prints will do just fine)! See more here.

P.S. And if that wasn't enough...the cutest project ever (also by Sharon M!).

do-it-yourself hermes bag

So it seems it's a double dose of fashion for today...if you've ever wondered what it would feel like to own an Hermes Kelly bag, search no more - their website lets you print and "make" your very own out of paper for free (though you kind of have to search for it)! I like the idea of using one to "wrap" a gift vs. the usual wrapping paper...

Choose from 9 designs - I especially love the 'clouds' and the 'rainbow' (above) ones best. Though I'm pretty sure the 'skulls' design was meant for my friend Kelly (she's crazy for skulls!).

shoe candy

Super gorgeous & girly shoes by Charlotte Olympia...her designs are inspired by old Hollywood glamour and are hand crafted in Italy. Yea, I'm not going to even pretend that I could stand up in those heels, let alone walk 2 feet without falling or crashing into someone...but they are still so beautiful to look at, don't you think?

felt pouches

I have to admit, I am obsessed with all things felt. Something about the texture...or maybe because it actually looks handmade (which I love). How adorable are these pouches by BraveMoonman? That Nintendo controller really brings back memories!

happy dog

Haha, just had to post this photo - I bought a car last weekend (my first!) and my dog, Hallie, couldn't wait to run around and do some exploring...of course she also had to leave her trademark nose smudges/slobber on my windows too :)

What are you doing this weekend? I think I'm going to just veg out, maybe make some jewelry, and bake these!! Don't they look tasty? Yummm cinnamon-y...

world maps

I really like the idea of using a giant map to decorate a room vs. the traditional wallpaper...wouldn't this look amazing in a library or study? Find these here and here.

desktop wallpapers

If you're like me, you're always changing your desktop wallpaper because you get bored from staring at the same one everyday. Currently I am using one of Catherine Ledner's animal prints as mine (the beaver one!)...but I am liking this collection of wallpapers from Pixelgirl Presents too. They offer a variety of styles from various artists and graphic designers from all over. You can even submit your own...

rubber stamps

Loving these adorable rubber stamps by Sarah Neuburger...just look at that toothy grin!
See the rest of the collection here!

love letter

Haha, just had to post this cute love letter I saw from Found - it made me smile. Glad to see romance isn't lost when it comes to 5th graders...although is anyone else amazed that he is already being branded as a "bad kisser"?? What is he, 11? :)

toms shoes

I'm so happy that TOMS shoes is getting some well-deserved publicity through this ad campaign with AT&T...I think it's a very heartfelt piece and shows a glimpse of what the company is all about: "One for One. For every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of shoes to a child in need."

Not to mention the shoes are also super cute and comfy - I'm still rockin' the pair my sister bought me for my birthday last year...love 'em!

lost luggage?

What a cool concept for a website -
Is This Your Luggage is run by a mystery good samaritan who collects lost luggage, takes photos and then posts it online...in hopes of finding the real owner. I think you can learn a lot about a person just from their clothes, not to mention where they went on their vacation!
This one is a little puzzling though...gloves AND shorts and flip flops???

custom heart sampler

Um, I think I'm in love with these custom heart samplers by
MiniatureRhino. What a sweet and simple way to show the world that you have a special someone...not to mention it's tree-friendly too!

weekly favorites list

This is me and my little sister Megan. When I say little I mean younger, because she is obviously taller than me in this photo (and in real life). She's coming down from Dallas to visit for a few days and is bringing her pet rabbit (Josie)! I can't wait...and yes, I'm always that goofy-looking when I'm with her :)

Also, here a few things that I didn't get a chance to post about this week:

- Say goodbye to countless sticky notes and hello to
this

- Vintage + cowgirl + Dorothy =
cute shoes

- Who would have thought a
spoonful of cinnamon could be this funny?

- An oldie but a goodie 'best-of-craigslist'
story

- I wouldn't mind cruising around in
this for spring

Happy Easter & enjoy your weekend!

Everything about this outfit looks so perfect - the little trench, the patterned skirt, the boots...so pretty and effortless...
