the photographic dictionary

How fantastic are these images from The Photographic Dictionary project? What a clever idea...and all of the photos are just stunning (I especially love that cat one). The best part is, it's still relatively new so they are still accepting submissions (tell all of your photographer friends)!

papercut prints

Love this gorgeous papercut print by
Elsa Mora - I love how the incredibly intricate details somehow still make it seem so simple...a more creative take to the typical silhouette portrait...

all week long barrettes

Boy do I wish I was 5 years old again and able to wear adorable little barrettes like these! Mine were all made of plastic and shaped like animals...although they were always color coordinated to match my outfits (thanks mom!).

green house

I've always wanted to live in an ivy house. Kyle and I know of one downtown and we always like to imagine a little hobbit living there :)
Hope you have a relaxing weekend!

first shoe post!

Forgive me for being super-girly, but I just realized that I have yet to post about shoes! Here's a vintage pair that I am coveting right now...I love the gorgeous tan color and the scalloped edges...these would match pretty much anything in my wardrobe...not that I need another pair of shoes though...

her morning elegance

This stop motion music video by Oren Lavie made me smile...big thanks to my friend Kevin for sending!

rifle illustrations

Love these little illustrations by Anna Melcon Bond. I feel like I could write a short story for each one of her pictures...or at the very least a fun caption. What would your caption be?

mac 'n cheese, please

I think 'food of the month clubs' are genius - it somehow always feels like an unexpected gift at your door (because you usually forget you're in one). So how fantastic would it be to get a monthly tub of mac 'n cheese delivered to you? Pretty heavenly I think...

anna karenina

I finally finished reading Anna Karenina and I have to say, it really is as good as everyone says. Didn't think I'd be able to make it through the 800+ pages but it was well worth it - a beautiful, incredibly sad and tragic love story...all the way to the end. Plus the fact that it takes place during 19th century Russia only adds to the drama!

parisian flowers

Gorgeous gorgeous flowers from Paris...I'm so happy that spring is finally here! Now to enjoy the 2 weeks worth of perfect weather before the blistering Texas heat rolls around :)

where the wild things are

I cannot WAIT for this movie! Think they did a great job in making sure the characters weren't too cheesy-looking. See more photos from the film here.

*Update: Watch the movie trailer! Love Arcade Fire...

i heart bando.

There is something so girly and romantic about having a flower or something sparkly in your hair.
Thought up by two stylists in L.A., they also make gorgeous belts!

See more lovelies here.

cake pops

(photos by bakerella)

Don't these look yummy? I had never heard of them before but they're cake pops - which is essentially cake on a stick! I think these would be great for birthdays...and way cuter than a traditional cake.

P.S. Thanks to my friends Runi and Leah for showing me these!

sandwich sponge

This sandwich sponge from MOMA is just too cute. It looks so real that I think I'd be tempted to eat it everytime I washed the dishes...not a good thing. I would miss the bread crust though...

book covers

I try not to judge a book by its cover...but sometimes it's hard not to when they're all so beautiful. Love this archive collection of book covers - some of my favorite books ever are here, here and here.

happy monday

Love this poster by
BluLima - apparently this phrase was commissioned by the British government in 1939 to be posted in times of "crisis" or "invasion"...though I think it's pretty applicable to Mondays too. Just breathe...

deep thought of the day

I thought life was a line...I now know it's a grid. So
insightful, in my opinion. Read more things I have learned in my life so far here.

Have a wonderful weekend...and for those in Austin, enjoy SXSW!

shadow puppets

I've loved owlyshadowpuppets ever since I first found out about Etsy. I bet they make bedtime storytelling 1000 times more fun (and hilarious)!

whale chalkboard

I've been wanting to organize my desk space at home a little better, so how cute would it be to have a little whale chalkboard like this one? It would sure make the 11 post-it notes I have on my wall now obsolete.

animal print

How adorable are these prints by Catherine Ledner? I wonder how she was able to get them to hold still...must have had a very wide range of treats in her pocket.
P.S. And on a random note, it's my dog's 10th birthday today! Happy Birthday Hallie :)

brown bag

If you don't already know, I am fascinated by things that don't always appear as they seem. So I pretty much squealed for joy when I saw this leather "paper" bag. The ridges are simply adorable. Yea, not exactly ec0-friendly, but still great design nonetheless...

Haha, seeing this print by dazeychic made me laugh. Sometimes you just need a happy day...have a lovely weekend!

human clock

Have you heard of humanclock.com? It's a website that shows a photograph of the current time (sometimes you really have to look for it), with the photo changing every minute of the day. I think the concept is so creative and the fact that you can submit your own pretty much guarantees that there are some wacky/hilarious clock pictures out there.

furniture chess set

Chess is so much fun, but I think it would be a little hard to play with the set above by Rachel Whitehead. It's still adorable though, I especially love that there are 'king' & 'queen' stovetops...also look at the tiny wooden stool! :)

blackbird bakery

You know I love breakfast. Well I recently discovered Blackbird Bakery on etsy, Texas's first gourmet gluten-free bakeshop. Based out of Austin, they offer a wide range of treats from biscotti and banana bread to gingersnaps and apple pie...And while I am not actually allergic to gluten or suffer from wheat sensitivities, their desserts are so delicious, I actually prefer them to the "real thing"!

scarf weather

Came back from oh-so-perfect Miami beach weather to a surprisingly chilly Austin. It is definitely scarf weather. Really makes me wish I had a giant scarf - it's both warm and fashionable!
